Marimo notebooks for Latin syntactic analysis

Marimo is a reactive notebook system written in Python. You can run the notebooks listed in the marimo directory as you would any marimo notebook, e.g., marimo run marimo/NOTEBOOKNAME.py.

Notebooks for analysis with a configured language model

latin_syntaxer_textinput.py and latin_syntaxer_ctsdata.py use a configured language model to analyze the syntax of Latin text. To configure your model, create an .env file like this:

latin_syntaxer_textinput.py

Enter text and identifier for a passage interactively, analyze and visualize the results. Optionally download the analysis results.

latin_syntaxer_ctsdata.py

Upload a citable text from a source file in CEX format. Select one or more passages, anlayze and visualize the results. Optionally download the analysis results

Notebooks for working with saved analyses

latin_syntaxer_review.py

Upoad a file with one or more saved analyses, pick a sentence to review, and visualize it, including the interpretation of the analysis as an Agent-Action-Target (AAT) graph.

latin_syntaxer_graph_metrics.py

Upoad a file with one or more saved analyses, pick one or more sentences to analyze, and compute basic graph metrics to compare the syntactic form and complexity of the chosen sentences.

Load a Markdown-formatted text of Lewis-Short’s Latin Dictionary from a local file or URL, and lookup articles by headword.
