Serialization format of tokenization without analysis
Block structure
Tokenization of a passage and segmentation into sentences can be serialized without incurring the cost of a full syntactic anlaysis. The results are serialized to a plain-text format with delimited-text data blocks labelled #!sentences, and #!tokens. By default, the pipe character | is used as a delimiter in delimited-text blocks.
Field structure
The structure of each block type is illustrated with the serialization of an analysis of a passage with text content arma virumque cano and CTS URN urn:cts:latinLit:phi0690.phi003.omar:1.1.
Sentences
#!sentences blocks have four columns with a header context_begin|first_token|context_end|last_token. These give the URN content and token ID of the first and last tokens of each sentence. (This is identical to the #!sentences block serialized for a full analysis.)
Example:
#!sentences
context_begin|first_token|context_end|last_token
urn:cts:latinLit:phi0690.phi003.omar:1.1|t0|urn:cts:latinLit:phi0690.phi003.omar:1.1|t3
Tokens
The #!tokens block has four columns with the header context|sentence_index|id|text. These give the CTS URN, a sentence index number, and the token ID for each token, followed by the text content of the token.
#!tokens
